Chop’t opened in January 2001 with hopes of bringing something creative, fresh and healthy to the lunchtime scene in New York City, and eventually the rest of the country. The owners wanted to offer the very biggest and best salads and salad sandwiches, with the largest variety of ingredients and the best bang for the buck in the city. They envisioned a place where the customers would have a hand in crafting their meals and could come every day of the year without eating the same meal twice.

Every morning before opening, the kitchen bustles with activity. The owners/chefs prepare dressings and vinaigrettes from original recipes, tested on friends and families for two years until they were perfect. Daily shipments of fresh produce arrive, and then they prepare and grill the meats, roast the turkeys and make their soups from scratch.
Because Chop’t maintains the highest levels of food quality, service and cleanliness, customers can expect to leave there with a smile and a desire to return. Ordered at 6:40pm. Was told food will arrive between 30-45 minutes. It is now 8:20pm and food still has not arrived. Two phone calls in, their excuse is the delivery guy is new and he got lost.

The delivery took an 1hr and 45min to a location which is only 9 blocks away. This is the second time its happened and its unacceptable. Only reason I gave the two stars is the food was delivered dispite being very cold. Do not order unless you are willing to pick it up.

Worst salad I have ever ate, threw it away after trying to suffer through it considering it was $15. I get the exact same ingredients at the deli behind me and it's always delicious. Got red wine vinagrette and was flavorless and the ingresients were non existant. AWFUL

Salads are good but they take 60-90 minutes to deliver and require ~3 calls to find / fill the order. Simply not worth it.

Very disappointed with online order today. I asked for extra dressing in the comments section and I got a salad with barely any dressing on it. not sure what is going on but service seems to be declining. Why offer online ordering if the instructions are not followed!?

The food is always good here and there is so much variety. Their seasonals are always really tasty too. The General Tso's Chipotle and Tuscan Farro are tied for first in my book. Also, using SeamlessWeb is very useful for avoiding the long lines at the restaurant around lunchtime.

I am very very loyal to Chop't. About 99% of the time, the food comes exactly as I asked it to be prepared. I love the Palm Beach Salad and Sante Fe Salad - extra extra chopped, especially. Also Chop't delivers within the hour, which I really appreciate. It is great that you can get a healthy meal delivered!

slowest and worst service I have had on seamless, and as a point of reference, I order about 3-4 nights a week. Slow delivery for one, and when you call to check it, been put on hold for a few minutes, and they tell you incorrect info (i.e. on way, and on second call to check-in, they say they are making it). ordered twice from them, same issue. learned lesson this time. it's a salad place with a small menu a few blocks away, I don't get how the other restaurants I have ordered from get things moving so much quicker and efficiently.

I never write reviews, but given how terrible my salad was I just had to vent. The grilled chicken was frozen, the lettuce was old and there was a pool of dressing at the bottom - just gross. The only bright spot was the the chicken noodle soup, which wasn't too bad. Mental note - never order from this place again.

Ok the price is a little high for the budget concious lunchers but worth every penny, and there's plenty of it! and so delicous!! The Cobb salads and the steak salad fill me up way past dinner time, and eating all those vegetables is just plain good for me :)

Despite what website "delivery time states" it takes over an hour to get salad, then when calling to ask about order get placed on hold for a long time. Additionally it takes 2-3 people to even locate the order. Haven't even gotten my food yet but would never order from here again!!

30-45 minutes?! TRY 1 HOUR AND A HALF! When I called these guys to inquire about my delivery, they put me on hold for 20 additional minutes. Then they decided that they would make me wait an additional 30 minutes. Completely unprofessional.

Two weeks in a row chopt has screwed up my order as part of a large corporate order (a custom craft salad). Today, they gave me a completely differenct salad, I called up, and then they never sent the replacement. Really disappointing.

The lettuce was soggy, even though I had not ordered dressing. "Chopt" is a misnomer to say the least. Even though I had specified in the special instructions that I would like my salad "chopped," it was clear that the lettuce had not even been skimmed by any sort of chopping device. I frequently go to Just Salad, which is consistently fresh and well-chopped. It was a mistake to check out the competition.
