Chop’t opened in January 2001 with hopes of bringing something creative, fresh and healthy to the lunchtime scene in New York City, and eventually the rest of the country. The owners wanted to offer the very biggest and best salads and salad sandwiches, with the largest variety of ingredients and the best bang for the buck in the city. They envisioned a place where the customers would have a hand in crafting their meals and could come every day of the year without eating the same meal twice.
Every morning before opening, the kitchen bustles with activity. The owners/chefs prepare dressings and vinaigrettes from original recipes, tested on friends and families for two years until they were perfect. Daily shipments of fresh produce arrive, and then they prepare and grill the meats, roast the turkeys and make their soups from scratch.
Because Chop’t maintains the highest levels of food quality, service and cleanliness, customers can expect to leave there with a smile and a desire to return. Despite what website "delivery time states" it takes over an hour to get salad, then when calling to ask about order get placed on hold for a long time. Additionally it takes 2-3 people to even locate the order. Haven't even gotten my food yet but would never order from here again!!

30-45 minutes?! TRY 1 HOUR AND A HALF! When I called these guys to inquire about my delivery, they put me on hold for 20 additional minutes. Then they decided that they would make me wait an additional 30 minutes. Completely unprofessional.

Two weeks in a row chopt has screwed up my order as part of a large corporate order (a custom craft salad). Today, they gave me a completely differenct salad, I called up, and then they never sent the replacement. Really disappointing.

The lettuce was soggy, even though I had not ordered dressing. "Chopt" is a misnomer to say the least. Even though I had specified in the special instructions that I would like my salad "chopped," it was clear that the lettuce had not even been skimmed by any sort of chopping device. I frequently go to Just Salad, which is consistently fresh and well-chopped. It was a mistake to check out the competition.
